If you already have drawings
Send the current dimensioned drawing and a 3D model if available. The drawing communicates fits, tolerances, material and finish; the model helps explain the geometry. Check that both files describe the same revision. Mark any difference you already know about.
Tell us the quantity needed first and the likely repeat demand. A firm schedule is not necessary for an initial review, but a prototype and a recurring production part may need different manufacturing routes.
If you have a sample or photographs
Photograph the whole part and its important faces. Include an approximate overall size and show the surfaces that connect to other components. An image of the assembled part can explain a mounting or sealing requirement that is hard to infer from the loose casting.
A photograph can start a feasibility discussion; it cannot establish hidden passages, alloy chemistry or a precision fit. Those details can be resolved through measurement, existing records or a sample review before a firm manufacturing specification is agreed.
Tell us what must work
Mention the bearing seat, gasket face, connector opening or other feature that matters most. If the current part leaks, rocks on its mounting face or is difficult to assemble, describe the symptom and where it occurs. You do not need to diagnose the casting process yourself.
A material or finish that is still undecided can be left open. Describe the environment and appearance you need rather than selecting a grade simply to complete a form.
For confidential designs
Start without attachments if an NDA is needed. Use the inquiry to describe the general part type and ask to arrange confidentiality terms. Share sensitive geometry after those terms are agreed.
For your inquiry
A useful first message can be as simple as: “We need a replacement housing, about this size, with this mounting pattern. Here are photos. Can you review a suitable route?”
